New still life series by Paul Brunelle

I love the impressionists and when they were developing their revolutionary approach to painting new colour theory was also being discovered and complimentary colours ,opposites on the colour wheel was one of these discoveries. Painting colour into the shadows was another as well as broad expressive brush work that let the viewer see the obvious pieces of paint rather than blending them out as was done previously. I tried to be aware of all of these as I worked on this series.
Since I am not good at all at naming my paintings I will call them, Blue and Orange, Red and Green and purple and yellow. ORANGE AND BLUE SOLD.
