Saturday morning minnow net

This oil is 30 x 26 inches. I decided to head down to Port Stanley for a sunrise to seek reference subjects to paint as I usually go later in the day. For awhile I was the only one walking along the harbour but just as the sun broke over the horizon this fellow began casting his minnow net for I imagine a days perch fishing. The sun caught the water spray and tops of the grasses ,the fishing boats loomed in the back waiting their turn. I loved the contrast of warm and cool colours that I found as the day began.
